Facebook Launches ‘Send’ Button For More Selective Sharing, Announces 50 Million ‘Groups’
Facebook’s “Like” button is getting a friend. The “Send” button is Facebooks newest addition to the family and is already getting rave reviews. The idea is that when you see “Send” on a site, you can share it with select people such as Facebook friends, specific email addresses or Facebook groups. It’s a selective way of sharing information with specific people. While only 50 sites will begin using this feature to begin with, it is inevitable that this usage will grow, most likely making groups a more popular feature on Facebook. “It’s always been easy to share links within Groups, but this lowers the bar even further because you don’t have to leave the page you’re reading — you can imagine people using the button to share book reviews with their book club, close friends sharing new ideas for travel destinations, and so on.” Facebook reports there are over 50 million groups right now, and with this new feature, that number is only bound to grow.

There Are Now More Free Apps For Android Than For The iPhone: Distimo
According to a new study conducted by an app store analytic provider, Distimo, there are now more free apps for Android than there are for the iPhone. Based on their research, there are currently 134,342 free applications for the Android and only 121,845 for the iPhone. Even though the Apple App Store is the largest store in terms of applications available, Android is still offering more free ones. While RIM’s BlackBerry App world is pretty far behind in right now, Distimo is predicting that they will double in size within a six-month period, and that many of the other app stores will be growing as well.

Christie, Zuckerberg Make TIME’s 100 Most Influential People List
TIME has announced their list of the 100 most influential people, and (no shocker here) Mark Zuckerberg has made the list. Last year, Zuckerberg was honored with the title ‘Person of the Year’ by TIME, and they are honoring him once again for his fantastic work with Facebook. This year, he is joined on the list by other great influencers such as Hillary Clinton and Gabrielle Giffords. However, there is also some controversy over some of the others on the list, such as Justin Beiber and Blake Lively. Either way, it’s pretty clear that the people over see Zuckerberg in a very positive light at TIME, and deservedly so.

Will the royal wedding break the Internet?
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Prince William is getting married on Saturday (Friday for those of us in the US). It should also come as no surprise that the Internet is all a buzz about the upcoming nuptials. Whether they are excited or annoyed with all of the hype, Facebook and Twitter users have turned to social networks to talk about it. But now experts are worrying that the biggest wedding in years will actually break the Internet. Some are worried that sites may crash and that too many people will be trying to get information. But others have pointed out that since all of the UK has work off that day, and Americans will most likely still be sleeping when it takes place, there is little room for worry. What do you think will happen? Will this royal wedding cause a royal pain in the butt for the Internet?
